Wickliffe is a perfect 10-0 against Cardinal since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Blue Devils will welcome the Huskies at 5:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Wickliffe took a loss when they played away from home last Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They never let Crestwood get on the board and left with an 11-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Blue Devils in their matchups with the Red Devils: they've now won six in a row.

Not much got past Leigha Blazetic, who gave up just two hits and racked up 13 Ks to keep Crestwood off the board. Blazetic has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Amanda Peklay was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Lorelai Nichols, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
Wickliffe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Crestwood only posted a batting average of .143.
Meanwhile, Cardinal hadn't done well against Crestwood recently (they were 0-8 in their previous eight matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Huskies walked away with an 11-6 victory over the Red Devils.
Maggie Grant was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She tossed seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Grant was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adelyn Grant, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Natalie Soltis was another key player, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-3.
Cardinal pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Wickliffe, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Wickliffe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 1 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cardinal struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Wickliffe took their win against Cardinal when the teams last played back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 16-2 score. Do the Blue Devils have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
