The Barnes Academy Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Temple Christian Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Barnes Academy is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses.
Even though Cambridge Academy scored an imposing 64 points on Thursday, Barnes Academy still came out on top. Barnes Academy narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Cambridge Academy 66-64.
Meanwhile, Temple Christian Academy entered their tilt with Westgate Christian with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Temple Christian Academy put the hurt on Westgate Christian with a sharp 72-48 victory on Friday. Given Temple Christian Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 104th, while Westgate Christian is ranked 272nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Temple Christian Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ethan Moses out in front who scored 28 points along with six rebounds and three blocks. Moses has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jeramy Trangmar, who scored 20 points along with six assists.
Barnes Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Temple Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Barnes Academy came up short against Temple Christian Academy in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 58-52. Can Barnes Academy avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
