After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Loudonville, the Mt. Gilead Indians were happy to have found some success on Wednesday. They skirted past Danville 53-50. This was payback for Mt. Gilead, who suffered a 43-34 loss the last time these two teams met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mt. Gilead to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danielle Pohlkotte, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Greer Simpson, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Mt. Gilead's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Danville, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Gilead will take on Northmor at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Northmor will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 587th, while Mt. Gilead is ranked 166th). As for Danville, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Centerburg at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th.
