After flying high against the St. Bernard Prep Saints last Thursday, the Falkville Blue Devils came back down to earth. Falkville took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Patriots on Saturday. If Falkville was looking for revenge after losing 60-32 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
It was another big night for Austyn Holmes, who scored 20 points along with three steals for Brewer. Holmes hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Jackson Dunn, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Falkville has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-14 record this season. As for Brewer, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-13.
Falkville will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Brewer, they will head out on the road to square off against the Red Devils at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lawrence County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Friday.
