The Southaven Chargers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 73-63 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lewisburg. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Southaven lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cael Jones, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds. Jones continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jhordan Shivers, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds.
Southaven bumped their record down to 8-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Lewisburg, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southaven will take on Hernando at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
