Baseball Recap: Crawford Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Crawford lost against Valley Mills back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Crawford Pirates fell 11-8 to the Valley Mills Eagles.

Ryan Yocham made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole Four bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Yocham is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Gage Grieger was another key player, getting on base in all six of his plate appearances with one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Crawford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .535. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Crawford's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 6-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Valley Mills, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

While Crawford had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
