Hayden is 0-10 against Fort Thomas since January of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Hayden Lobos will head out on the road to take on the Fort Thomas Apaches at 5:30 p.m. Hayden will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 274th, while Fort Thomas is ranked 104th).
Hayden has not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They came out on top against Superior by a score of 20-9 on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Fort Thomas put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past Dishchii'bikoh 74-39 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Fort Thomas has posted against Dishchii'bikoh since January 10, 2020.
It was another big night for Tyesha Wilson, who scored 25 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kaylee Benally, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Hayden's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-17. As for Fort Thomas, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-8 record this season.
Hayden was dealt a bruising 59-17 loss at the hands of Fort Thomas in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Wilson, who scored 18 points along with nine steals and six rebounds.
