Ridgeline is on a 13-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Bear River is on a six-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Riverhawks will host the Bears at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ridgeline will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Sky View on Friday. The Riverhawks were the clear victors by a 22-4 margin over the Bobcats. The Riverhawks' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Brielle Gardiner made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gardiner was also big at the plate, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, five RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Anne Wallace was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base. Kylie Jorgensen was another key player, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.
Ridgeline kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.
Meanwhile, Bear River got themselves on the board against Green Canyon on Wednesday, but Green Canyon never followed suit. They blew past the Wolves 15-0.
Kate Wilson looked comfortable as she kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Londyn Gamble, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aubree Fry, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Ridgeline has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Bear River, their victory bumped their record up to 14-1.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ridgeline hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .317. However, it's not like Bear River struggles in that department as they've averaged .389. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ridgeline couldn't quite finish off Bear River in their previous matchup two weeks ago and fell 4-2. Will the Riverhawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
