This season hasn't been kind to the Sharpsville Blue Devils, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They fell to Brookfield 45-41. Sharpsville lost against Brookfield in their previous head to head back in December of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 55-49 score last time.
Brookfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Matteo Fortuna, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Fortuna has scored at least 25% of Brookfield's points. Another player making a difference was Judah Dejoy, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Sharpsville's defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Brookfield, their win bumped their record up to 1-2.
Sharpsville will stay at home for another game and welcome Commodore Perry at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. As for Brookfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Crestview at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestview is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
