Warner is 0-5 against The Cambridge School since November of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. Having just played yesterday, the Warner Wildcats will get right back to it and host The Cambridge School Griffins at 5:30 p.m. on January 17th. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
On Tuesday, Warner didn't have too much trouble with Calexico Mission at home as they won 56-39.
Warner had a senior duo take command as Angel Carachure scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals and Omar Acosta scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. Acosta continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Lozano, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, The Cambridge School strolled past Ocean View Christian with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 43-27.
Warner's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-9. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.7 points per game. As for The Cambridge School, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.
Warner took a serious blow against The Cambridge School in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 50-20. Can Warner avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
