Kathleen has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the George Jenkins Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. One thing working in Kathleen's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matchups.
Kathleen put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 59-14 victory over Bartow at home. Given Kathleen's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 93rd, while Bartow is ranked 522nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Dariasia Pitts, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kayden Gause, who scored 11 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but George Jenkins ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They came out on top against Mulberry by a score of 65-57. George Jenkins' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Kathleen has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. As for George Jenkins, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Everything went Kathleen's way against George Jenkins in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as Kathleen made off with a 52-32 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Kathleen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
