The Pisgah Bears will face off against the Brevard Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Pisgah knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Brevard likes a good challenge.
Pisgah's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Wednesday, when they got past Owen's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Bears were the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over the Warhorses. Considering the Bears have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pisgah got a great performance from Sadie Messer as she struck out 12 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. That's the most strikeouts Messer has posted since back in February.
At the plate, Lilly Inman was a standout: she went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Mack Jones was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.
Pisgah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Owen only posted a batting average of .118.
Meanwhile, Brevard came up short against Polk County on Tuesday and fell 8-3.
Emma Bailey spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and two unearned) runs on 16 hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Claire Wilson was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Brevard's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Pisgah, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Wednesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pisgah hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .437. However, it's not like Brevard struggles in that department as they've averaged .375. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
