The West Jefferson Roughriders posted their biggest win since December 6, 2023 on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 45-21 margin over Northeastern. With West Jefferson ahead 31-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Despite the loss, Northeastern still got an impressive performance from Chloe Waugh, who scored 11 points. That was a full 52.4% of Northeastern's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
West Jefferson's victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Northeastern, they dropped their record down to 1-16 with that defeat, which was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season.
West Jefferson will take on Triad at 6:45 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Triad focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Wednesday. As for Northeastern, they will head out on the road to challenge Mechanicsburg at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Mechanicsburg is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 14 games.
