The Northview Academy Cougars scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 82-55 win over Seymour. The win was just what Northview Academy needed coming off of a 93-69 loss in their prior game.
When it comes to explaining why Seymour lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Soulages. Despite the final result, he scored 15 points along with two steals. Soulages hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Hayes Golden, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Northview Academy has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Seymour, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-16.
Northview Academy will be playing at home against Jefferson County at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Seymour's road trip will continue as they head out to face Gatlinburg-Pittman at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Gatlinburg-Pittman knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 20 matchups -- so hopefully Seymour likes a good challenge.
