It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Fillmore Central Panthers had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against Malcolm by a score of 30-20. The victory was familiar territory for Fillmore Central who now have 11 in a row.
Fillmore Central's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trevor Roach, who rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns. Treven Stassines was another key contributor, rushing for 81 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries.
Fillmore Central's win bumped their record up to 11-1. As for Malcolm, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-2.
Fillmore Central is on the road again on Friday and play against Norfolk Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on November 10th. Norfolk Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 246 points over their last five matchups. Malcolm will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Ponca at 7:35 p.m. on December 12th.
