Dallas Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Vanguard College Prep Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Dallas Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Saturday.
Dallas Christian fought the good fight in their overtime contest against the Guard but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Guard by a score of 49-46.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Megan Greer, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chanel Jones, who scored five points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Vanguard College Prep put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Saturday. They put the hurt on All Saints Episcopal with a sharp 51-26 victory. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Vanguard College Prep.
Dallas Christian's defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7. As for Vanguard College Prep, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season.
Dallas Christian strolled past the Vikings when the teams last played back in January by a score of 47-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Dallas Christian since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
