The Shaw Cardinals lost against the Garfield Heights Bulldogs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Shaw had to suffer through a rough 47-19 loss at the hands of Garfield Heights. Shaw has struggled against Garfield Heights recently, as their game on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Shaw still got an impressive performance from Rayne Rallings, who scored 8 points.
Garfield Heights' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stacia Mobley, who scored 18 points. That makes it two consecutive games in which Mobley has scored at least 25% of Garfield Heights' points. Journey Rencher was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 3 steals.
Shaw's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Garfield Heights, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shaw will face off against Bedford at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Garfield Heights, they will head out on the road to face off against Oberlin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
