Le Grand took care of business in their home opener on Friday. They secured a 35-29 W over the Livingston Wolves. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 2-0 win the Wolves walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

Le Grand's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Diego Martinez led the charge by rushing for 60 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 91 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Another back making a difference was Thomas Benting, who gained 77 total yards and two touchdowns.

Alexander Zuniga and Jeffrey Meneses certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Zuniga rushed for 82 yards and one score on only seven carries, while Meneses rushed for 78 yards and one TD on only six carries. Zuniga got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 74 yards.

Le Grand and Livingston could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Bulldogs will face off against Ripon Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (713 vs. 270). Meanwhile, Livingston (ranked 623rd) will meet Sonora (ranked 119th) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
