The Boylan Catholic Titans can now show off 12 landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They blew past Harlem 49-28. Given Boylan Catholic's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 71st, while Harlem is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Boylan Catholic had a senior duo take command as Lilian Esparza dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds and Alayna Petalber scored 15 points. Esparza is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gianna Marinaro, who scored six points.
Boylan Catholic's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 24-6. As for Harlem, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-16.
Boylan Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harlem, they will head out on the road to take on Guilford at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Guilford will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Harlem surely won't give up without a fight.
