The Trego Golden Eagles will be home for the holidays to greet the Decatur Community Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Trego comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Trego was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-35 to Victoria.
Even though Decatur Community has not done well against Wauneta-Palisade recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Decatur Community took down Wauneta-Palisade 46-29. The victory was some much needed relief for Decatur Community as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Decatur Community to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gage Williby, who scored 13 points along with 6 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Williby has scored at least 25% of Decatur Community's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Ostmeyer, who scored 8 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
The losses dropped Trego to 0-3 and Victoria to 1-2.
Everything came up roses for Trego against Decatur Community in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 as the squad secured a 79-30 victory. Will Trego repeat their success, or does Decatur Community have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
