The Dalton Tigers will head out on the road to square off against the Collegiate Dutchmen at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Dalton will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Dalton proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past Fieldston 6-5. The game was the first time the Tigers have beaten the Eagles on their field since May 8, 2019.

Jackson Herzog made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Miles Gumbs was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Klein, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Collegiate earned an 8-3 win over St. Ann's on Tuesday.
Collegiate also got a great performance from Alex Sabat as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Harris Roessner, who went 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. David Youngwood also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Dalton pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Collegiate, they now also have a winning record of 4-3.
Dalton suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Collegiate in their previous matchup on April 4th. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
