While it was all tied up 33-33 at halftime, the Lake Norman Charter Knights were not quite the Robinson Bulldogs's equal in the second half on Friday. Lake Norman Charter took a 79-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Robinson. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (65), Lake Norman Charter still had to take the loss.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jay Morgan, who scored 21 points. That's the first time this season that Morgan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Drew Johnson, who scored six points along with seven rebounds and seven steals.
Robinson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Londen Roseman out in front who scored 23 points. The game was Roseman's third in a row with at least ten points. Brian Rowe was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Lake Norman Charter's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 6-7. As for Robinson, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season.
Lake Norman Charter will head out on the road to face off against South Rowan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. South Rowan is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Robinson, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Concord at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in North Carolina (Concord is ranked 183rd, while Robinson is ranked 170th).
