The Belen Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight defeat. They took a hard 81-62 fall against Grants. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jasode Harris, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Damian Avila, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Belen has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Grants, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 14-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Valencia the next time they take the court. Belen will host the Jaguars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Pirates will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
