The Rodriguez Mustangs will face off against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rodriguez 3.7, Davis Sr. 3.7) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Rodriguez is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Sheldon 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Mustangs have posted since March 17th.
Rodriguez got a big performance out of Alanna Williams, who went 2-for-5 with three runs and one stolen base. Lily Hartt also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Meanwhile, Davis Sr. had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Wildcats. Ten seems to be a good number for the Blue Devils as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Kaytlin LeBar-Triepke made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 20 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Molly Roseen was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2025. Another player making a difference was Kylie Yao, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Davis Sr. kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post 11 or more hits.
Rodriguez's record is now 16-9. As for Davis Sr., their record now sits at 16-11.
Davis Sr.'s pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Rodriguez has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .438. It's a different story for Davis Sr., though, as they've only averaged .331. Will they be able to contain Rodriguez's hitters?
Rodriguez skirted past Davis Sr. 2-1 in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
