Lake Minneola has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The Lake Gibson Braves at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Minneola will be hoping to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each match than the last.
Lake Minneola can now show off five landslide victories after their most recent match two weeks ago. They blew past Forest 63-33 at home. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Dane Thompkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 233 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per carry. Thompkins hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for three straight games. Greg Mckinnond also helped out with an impressive 93 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Lake Gibson never let their opponents score on Friday. They blew past George Jenkins, posting a 42-0 victory on the road. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Lake Gibson just coasted through the last quarter.
Lake Gibson can attribute much of their success to Fentrell Graham, who rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Graham was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. Kordell Lewis was another key contributor, picking up 61 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Lake Minneola's victory was their third straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points per game. As for Lake Gibson, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
