Haddon Township has won four straight games at home, while Maple Shade has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Monday. The Hawks will host the Wildcats at 3:45 p.m. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Haddon Township proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Sterling, sneaking past 5-3. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Silver Knights recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
Jordan Strauss spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Mikayla Callahan and Jamie Kozarski did most of the damage at the plate: Callahan went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run, while Kozarski went 3-for-4 with two runs. Another player making a difference was Karsyn McCoy, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Maple Shade made sure to put some runs up on the board against Medford Tech on Thursday. The Wildcats blew past the Jaguars 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won eight games by eight runs or more so far this season.
The team relied heavily on Madeline Sylvia, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Rev? Robinson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Haddon Township's victory bumped their record up to 13-6-1. As for Maple Shade, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Maple Shade's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Monday. Haddon Township has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.2 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Maple Shade, though, as they've been averaging only 2.9 strikeouts. Will Haddon Township keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Haddon Township was able to grind out a solid win over Maple Shade when the teams last played back in May of 2023, winning 4-0. Will the Hawks repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
