On Monday, things could have been worse for Jim Thorpe, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 60-46 loss to Tamaqua.
Meanwhile, Marian Catholic entered their tilt with Weatherly with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Marian Catholic put the hurt on Weatherly with a sharp 71-46 win on Monday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-14.
Julius Currie continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jesse Rodino was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Jim Thorpe bumped their record down to 0-8 with that loss, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Marian Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
Jim Thorpe beat Marian Catholic 42-35 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jim Thorpe since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
