Charter Oak is 9-1 against Covina since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Chargers will face off against the Colts at 3:30 p.m. Charter Oak's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Covina's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Charter Oak's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when Northview hitters got past them. The Chargers fell 10-6 to the Vikings on Thursday. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Charter Oak got a good showing from Lucas Rivera, who pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Furthermore, Rivera didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in February.

At the plate, Diego Ramirez made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs. Michael Zubia also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

Meanwhile, Covina might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was West Covina who claimed the real prize. The Colts fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 7-5.

Ryan Silva and Jacob Alvarez did some serious damage despite the final result: Silva went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run, while Alvarez went 2-for-3 with two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Thorpe, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.

Covina has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Charter Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.

Charter Oak was able to grind out a solid victory over Covina in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 8-5. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Chargers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
