North Thurston escaped with a win on Wednesday against Walla Walla by the margin of a single free throw, 56-55. Given North Thurston's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while Walla Walla is ranked 153rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Ray Adams, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was his sixth in a row with at least ten points. Micah Anderson was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with four steals.
North Thurston's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Walla Walla, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-3.
North Thurston won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Walla Walla, they will head out on the road to face off against Kamiakin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
