Jayden Clark was his usual excellent self, scoring 22 points for Huntington. Clark has been hot recently, having posted 17 or more points the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Mikey Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Capital has not been sharp recently as the team's lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Huntington, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
Capital will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in West Virginia (Cabell Midland is ranked 68th, while the Cougars are ranked 84th). As for Huntington, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Black Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th.
