Poplarville has struggled against the Tigers recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Poplarville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Janiyah Jones, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Briahna Burt, who scored eight points.
Jordyn Ford was a one-man wrecking crew for Moss Point as she scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kirsten Bailey, who scored five points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Poplarville has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season. As for Moss Point, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Poplarville will take on the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greene County is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Moss Point, they will be playing at home against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
