The Midway Panthers waltzed into their game on Friday with six straight wins but they left with seven. They blew past Weiss 61-38. 61 seems to be a good number for Midway as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Serese Williams, who scored seven points.
Midway is on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. As for Weiss, they dropped their record down to 1-25 with that loss, which was their tenth straight at home.
Midway does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Weiss will head out on the road to take on the Hippos at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hutto presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wolves in Texas (the Hippos are ranked 489th, while the Wolves are ranked 1044th).
