Even though the Macon County Tigers scored an imposing 60 points on Friday, the Greenbrier Bobcats still came out on top. Greenbrier walked away with a 69-60 win over Macon County. That's another feather in the cap for Greenbrier, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Greenbrier was led to victory by Nate Castleman and Nolan Carson. Castleman scored 23 points, while Carson dropped a double-double on 13 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Castleman has scored all season. Luke Meyer was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Greenbrier is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Macon County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Greenbrier won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Portland at 7:30 p.m. on January 27th. Portland will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. As for Macon County, they will head out on the road to take on Station Camp at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Station Camp has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
