Even though they lost, Heritage didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with eight strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Arapahoe only tossed three.
On Arapahoe's side, they got a great performance from Kellan Dreiling as he tossed 5.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Camran Eakin, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, a triple, and a stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Smart, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with a stolen base and an RBI.
Heritage's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Arapahoe, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Heritage will be playing at home against Thomas Jefferson at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Thomas Jefferson's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Heritage's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Arapahoe, they will head out on the road to challenge Rock Canyon at 4:15 p.m. on Friday.
