Wauseon had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Antwerp Archers. The Indians have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Archers, too.
Wauseon got a massive performance out of Aubrianna Everly, who went 2-for-3 with two triples, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs Everly has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Layla Martinez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Wauseon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Antwerp only posted an OBP of .400.
Looking ahead, Wauseon will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Pettisville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Antwerp, they will welcome North Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
