In what's become a running theme this season, the St. John Woodchucks gave their fans yet another huge victory on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 72-37 victory over Dakota Prairie at home. Winning may never get old, but St. John sure is getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
St. John's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alani Morin, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Morin is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubree Jeanotte, who scored 20 points along with two steals.
St. John's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.9 points per game. As for Dakota Prairie, they now have a losing record at 1-2.
St. John won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Cougars on February 2nd. Dakota Prairie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
