Baseball Recap: Clinton County Wins Going Away Against Caverna

Clinton County won the last time they faced Caverna and things went their way on Monday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Colonels. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Clinton County got a massive performance out of Caleb Thrasher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Thrasher has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Tucker Casada, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Clinton County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .654. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Clinton County pushed their record up to 12-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Caverna, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Looking ahead, Clinton County will take on Wayne County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Caverna, they will square off against Russellville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Colonels are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
