Basketball Recap: Logan Shanks and Karissa Cook Secure Win for Bloomington Central Catholic

Bloomington Central Catholic won the last time they faced Sherrard and things went their way on Friday too. The Bloomington Central Catholic Saints walked away with a 59-46 win over the Sherrard Tigers. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Saints.

Bloomington Central Catholic was led to victory by Karissa Cook and Logan Shanks. Cook went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc on her way to 24 points and three steals, while Shanks dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Shanks has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Emme Hurie, who posted 11 points and six rebounds.

Bloomington Central Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Sherrard, with the defeat, they broke their ten-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-2.

Bloomington Central Catholic and Bishop McNamara will face off at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Sherrard, they will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mercer County at 7:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
