The Northfield Norsemen lost against the North Miami Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Northfield received a tough blow as they fell 57-41 to North Miami. Northfield has not had much luck with North Miami recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Northfield still got an impressive performance from Hannah Holmes, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 17 rebounds.
North Miami got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Laney Musall out in front who scored 29 points along with four steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Musall has scored at least a third of North Miami's points. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Hanley, who almost dropped a triple-double on 12 points, ten rebounds, and nine steals.
Northfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for North Miami, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will face off against Madison-Grant at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Madison-Grant is on a three-game streak of home wins, Northfield a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. North Miami won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against North Judson-San Pierre at 5:30 p.m. on January 13th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Indiana (North Judson-San Pierre is ranked 201st, while North Miami is ranked 223rd).
