It was a good run, but the Middletown Blue Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 52-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of Boiling Springs. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Middletown has scored all season.
Boiling Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Joe Wonders out in front who scored 13 points. Those 13 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Brandon Ascione, who scored 12 points.
Middletown's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-1. As for Boiling Springs, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with that victory, which was their third straight at home.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Middletown won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Eastern Lebanon County at 7:30 p.m. on December 20th. Eastern Lebanon County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Middletown is ranked 90th). Boiling Springs will be home for the holidays to greet James Buchanan at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. James Buchanan is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
