The Liberty County Bulldogs and the Blountstown Tigers squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but sadly the Liberty County Bulldogs had to settle for second. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-30 walloping at the hands of the Tigers. Liberty County's defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.
Liberty County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Gabriella Flowers, who scored 15 points. That was a full 50% of Liberty County's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleigh Peddie, who scored ten points.
Blountstown's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jill Davis, who scored 16 points. Davis hasn't dropped below 16 points for four straight games. Cyianna Smith was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Liberty County's loss dropped their record down to 19-4. As for Blountstown, the victory was the 12th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-1.
Liberty County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Blountstown will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Graceville at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Graceville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
