The team relied heavily on Dylan Boenig, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most doubles he has posted since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Brandenburg, who went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Spackenkill was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in five consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Dover entered their tilt with Webutuck on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Warriors get on the board and left with a 13-0 win. Considering the Dragons have won four games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Collin Russell was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jeramiah Kerr Lucero was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Dover's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games. As for Spackenkill, their victory bumped their record up to 4-11.
Everything went Spackenkill's way against Dover in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Spackenkill made off with a 16-2 win. Do the Spartans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
