The Trinity Collegiate Titans won the last time they faced the Laurence Manning Academy Swampcats, and things went their way on Friday too. Trinity Collegiate walked away with a 51-42 victory over the Swampcats. Given Trinity Collegiate's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Swampcats are ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Makayla Legette was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 11 times she's played. Another player making a difference was Saleese Kind, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Trinity Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 18-5. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-10.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Trinity Collegiate will take on the Highlanders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Heathwood Hall Episcopal has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Laurence Manning Academy, they will head out on the road to take on the Barons at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
