Metamora came tearing into Wednesday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They enjoyed a cozy 55-40 victory over the Dunlap Eagles. Given the Redbirds' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 30th, while the Eagles are ranked 226th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Metamora's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 26-6. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.8 points over those games. As for Dunlap, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-20 record this season.

Metamora has already played their next contest, a 45-43 victory against Morton on the 28th. Dunlap does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
