Annapolis Area Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against The St. John's Catholic Prep Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Annapolis Area Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than zero points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Annapolis Area Christian fell victim to Severn School's stalwart defense on Saturday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were beaten by the Admirals 42-0. Annapolis Area Christian was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Meanwhile, St. John's Catholic Prep came up short against Sidwell Friends on Friday and fell 27-19. While losing is never fun, St. John's Catholic Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 182nd in Maryland, while Sidwell Friends is ranked 18th in District of Columbia).
The losing side was boosted by Zion Ntemi, who rushed for 289 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.8 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown. Shane Meyer was another key contributor, throwing for 163 yards and two touchdowns.
Annapolis Area Christian has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 1-6-1 record this season. As for St. John's Catholic Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.
Annapolis Area Christian was taken down by St. John's Catholic Prep 34-0 in their previous meeting back in October. Can Annapolis Area Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
