Fairmont gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener  on Friday. They were the clear victors by  an  11-1 margin over the Marshall Tigers. The Cardinals not only won  on Friday, but they posted their biggest win  since April 18, 2024.
 Brylee Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only  one  hit while striking out seven over six innings pitched. Miller was also solid in the batter's box,  scoring a  run and  stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Ilana Moeller and  Makayla Lowry did most of the damage at the plate:  Moeller  went 2-for-4 with four  RBI and two  doubles, while  Lowry  scored three  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances. Those  two  doubles gave  Moeller a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Abi Sundeen, who  went 3-for-4 with one  RBI.
 Fairmont  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .541. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Marshall only posted  an  OBP of  .320.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fairmont will square off against Blue Earth at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday. As for Marshall, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Worthington  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday.
