1A-1 Region I District 4 recap October 22, 2013
Adding to the longest winning streak in 1A-1 Region I District 4 this week, Anson beat Winters 62-22. The win marks seventh in a row for the the Tigers.
Stamford took down Haskell 53-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Bo Wimberly threw for 79 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 80 yards in the win.
James Washington was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bulldogs bested the Indians. Washington tallied 1 reception for 55 yards. Wes Hutchinson helped Stamford's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 45 yards.
5-foot-8 quarterback Dylan Hanson of Haskell is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,270. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Washington. The Stamford star has 41 catches for 734 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Anson takes on Grady Benton's team. The Tigers are in first place, while the Indians are in fourth place.
Anson led 1A-1 Region I District 4 in scoring this week by notching 62 points on the Blizzards.
