Basketball Recap: Dominic Catrone Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Williams Valley

After losing to Williams Valley the last time they met, Marian Catholic decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. Marian Catholic came out on top against the Williams Valley Vikings by a score of 59-48 on Friday.

Marian Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dominic Catrone, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The dominant performance gave Catrone a new career-high in points. Rocco Griguoli was another key player, dropping a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Marian Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in ten consecutive contests.

Marian Catholic's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-10. As for Williams Valley, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marian Catholic will venture away from home to square off against Minersville at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Williams Valley has already played their next match (against Weatherly), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
