After three games on the road, Firebaugh is heading back home. They will take on the Dos Palos Broncos at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Dos Palos took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Firebaugh, who comes in off a win.
Last Tuesday, Firebaugh earned a 59-52 win over Mendota. The victory was just what Firebaugh needed coming off of a 72-44 loss in their prior game.
Meanwhile, Dos Palos fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Avenal on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Buccaneers 50-45. Dos Palos has not had much luck with Avenal recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Dos Palos had strong showings from Jacquez Jones, who scored 15 points, and Sixto Ibarra, who scored 11 points.
Firebaugh's win bumped their record up to 10-8. As for Dos Palos, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-14.
Everything came up roses for Firebaugh against Dos Palos when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-42 win. Will Firebaugh repeat their success, or does Dos Palos have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
