Softball Recap: Resurrection Wins Going Away Against Northside

Resurrection barely beat Northside the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bandits were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Mustangs on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Bandits as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Kailey Janus spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Sophia Spanos and Emily Cook did most of the damage at the plate: Spanos went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Cook went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI Spanos has posted since back in May of 2024. Alaina Pilas was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Resurrection was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .389. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Northside only posted a batting average of .136.

Resurrection now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Northside, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.

Resurrection didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 win against Regina Dominican on the 16th. As for Northside, they have also already played their next match, a 9-2 loss against Lane Tech on the 16th.
